Rome 3, Savannah 2 Game two of the four game series between the Savannah Sand Gnats and the Rome Braves was played Friday evening in front of 2,535 fans at Historic Grayson Stadium. Rome scored in the 8th inning to break a 2-2 tie and win the game by the final score of 3-2. Rome scored a run in the first inning when ss Jose Peraza singled, stole second and scored on a single by second baseman Levi Hyams. Savannah scored in the 3rd inning. 2b Yucary De La Cruz singled and scored on a doubled by first baseman Jayce Boyd. In the 5th inning, Rome scored a run to lead 2-1. Sand Gnats tied the game at 2-2 in the 6th inning. Boyd reached first base on a fielders choice and scored on a double by catcher, Kevin Plawecki. Rainy Lara starting for Savannah and turned in another stellar performance. The right-hander tossed seven innings, allowed two runs (one earned), gave up five hits, walked nobe, and struck out eight. Reliever Beck Wheeler took the loss after giving up the winning on two hits...
