Rams having "intense" talks with Eagles brass over trading for McNabb

There have been some talk about the St. Louis Rams possibly attempting to acquire backup Eagles quarterback Michael Vick. But as of late there has been other talk about the Rams going after a different Eagles quarterback. Today a report surfaced that the St. Louis Rams were having internal discussions about trading for Eagles All-Pro quarterback Donovan McNabb.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Bryan Burwell stated that "more than one well-informed source," came to him with the information that "the Rams have had intense internal conversations with the Philadelphia Eagles about a trade for Pro Bowler Donovan McNabb."

It may be worth noting that Burwell's colleague Bernie Miklasz stated that he was "skeptical" of Burwell's report, and Miklasz tweeted the Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo denied having any talks with the Eagles involving a trade for Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb.

Even though many questions surround Burwell's report, like why on earth would a 33-year old McNabb want to literally start all over again on a one and fifteen team? After all he would have all the say when even if the Eagles did trade him, it would be up to Donovan McNabb if he wanted to sign a contract extension or simply test the waters in free agency.

But this isn't completely out of the question, many reports surfaced earlier this week which stated that members of the Eagles front office have decided that in they would take a business first attitude when it came to the trade situation of Donovan McNabb.

Meaning if a good enough deal was offered to them then they would execute the trade.

  • YOU MEAN EZ and JASON talking trade again.
  • Let me ask you a question. If you are the Rams wouldn't you do whatever you could to improve your team? If McNabb is indeed available would you not try to get him? I am not saying either team makes the move in fact the first I heard about any of this was today. With that being said I would not mind seeing Suh in Eagle green.
  • EZ, I wouldn't mind seeing Suh, McCoy, Berry, Okung or any one of the top ten 2010 draft prospects in midnight green. And if it means giving up Five then sobeit.
  • Hollywood: You're dumb.

MVP, I'm glad to see that you're not so hung up on McNabb that you would throw away a great deal to keep him.

It should also be noted that this information has been updated and corrected: the Rams had internal conversations about McNabb. They did not talk to the Eagles.
    Also, McNabb isn't going anywhere.
  • EZ the Rams have too many holes and I doubt that McNabb wants to be a punching bag in LA. Now EZ you do make some credible arguments while Jason is the purest McNabb hater on the board. Jason is the fools fool.
  • I am not a hater at all. I'm just sick of McNabb.

You, however, are a retard. I do kinda hate you though... So I guess you were correct. I am a hater.
  • I should reiterate that. I'm not sick of McNabb. I'm sick of his inaccuracy and his inability to "will" this team to victory. That is why he will never be a great QB. He can't motivate the team to win when it should lose. Great QBs do that. McNabb can't. His time has come. You're still a retard, hollowood.
  • It's agreed Hollywood is a dumb box of rocks and he is not even an Eagle fan. Rip the owner, coach, FO, and boycott the organization. Hell Monster is not a Eagle fan and does not go that far. If that's not enough the only football related Avatars I ever seen you have were of the Colts and the Cowboys. With all do respect you are the worst "Eagle fan" alive today.
  • There is no way the rams would give up there first pick of the draft for a 34 year old
  • Teams have done worse.
  • DUMB SUBJECT drop it!
  • If the rams wanted a qb, they would go after Bradford not Mcnabb. I could see them trading for a 2nd. round pick but not 1st. They would be so stupid!!!
  • Does not seem like our birds are making a big splash this season.
  • EZ the wisemen in the front office are doing a lovely job holding on to your money. how would you like it invested in luries movie production company or his Mommas domstic staff.
  • How will you feel when McNabb is traded?
  • What else is new!!!
  • This is a total outright lie.
