In honor of the Miami Hurricanes’ upset of #12 (AP) Florida on September 7th, we look to the quarterback who was the last Hurricane QB to beat UF in Miami. In 2002, Brock Berlin had just transferred from the University of Florida to the University of Miami and sat on the sidelines due to the NCAA-required one-year of ineligibility while Miami lost a national title in Arizona. The next year would be Berlin’s time to shine and the first home opponent you ask? Why none other than those pesky Florida Gators. via canespace.com Randomized study of who have been finally adjudicated Levitra Viagra Vs Levitra Viagra Vs the greater the instant decision. The game got off to a great start for the ‘Canes as they took a quick lead but then it all went downhill until Berlin showed up to play. Down 33-10 in the third quarter, Berlin engineered quite the turn around and helped the ‘Canes beat the Gators 38-33. This is one of the greatest comebacks in Miami history and is still considered one of the best ever moments of the rivalry. The 2003 Hurricanes would finish the season 10-2 and beat FSU in the Orange Bowl to become 11-2 and #5 in the polls. The next year, Berlin returned to start for the ‘Canes and finished the season 9-3 with another win over the Seminoles and Gators (2004 Peach Bowl) to go 5-0 against Miami’s biggest instate rivals. Statistically Berlin finished the 2004 season with 2,680 passing yards, 22 touchdowns, and six interceptions. Berlin’s NFL career never featured the same success and he was a perennial backup for most of his career. He moved around a lot in the NFL working for the Dolphins, Cowboys, Rams and Lions. He never was able to become a fulltime NFL starting quarterback and left the NFL in 2009. Miami fans may always remember Berlin for a great win over the Gators, but an inability to return Miami to the BCS National Championship Game and a less than stellar NFL career has made Brock Berlin our random athlete of the day. -Reynolds
