The Rangers came back from a 2-0 deficit, thanks in large part to a 5-run sixth inning, to gain a 1/2 game on the Angels and beat the Red Sox in the first of a three-game series. It feels like the Rangers haven't had one since May.(actually, they had five runs in one inning against the Angels on July 1 and July 7). But the sixth inning on Monday was huge. Michael Young hit a homer to tie the game. Then Josh Hamilton doubled and Hank Blalock drove him in to give Texas the lead. David Murphy's homer made it four runs in the inning and Jarrod Saltalamacchia made it five runs with a solo shot. All of it off of John Smoltz. • Michael Young. He was a leader (as usual) on Monday. Got the homer to tie the score and had three hits (a triple shy of the cycle) and two runs scored. And he made a great catch over the dugout rail for the first out of the eighth.
