The Rangers win the series against the Angels and are now 1/2 game back. LAA plays Baltimore on Thursday, so that half-game will be erased one way or the other. That was one of the craziest games I've ever seen.
Discuss:
• Ninth inning. The Angels get three runs off Frank Francisco on a 3-run homer with two outs. Then the Rangers somehow hung in and won the game in the 9th on a walkoff homer by Hank Blalock.
• Why didn't the Angels walk Blalock? Borbon or a pinch hitter behind him.
• Sixth inning. Was that the inning that gets the offense going? Rangers got 5 runs -- none of them off homers. It started with a Marlon Byrd walk, a guy who doesn't walk much, and then added a double, four singles, a strikeout that was not an out and some aggressive baserunning. Is the offense coming out of this slump?
• Kevin Millwood. Did he secure his All-Star bid tonight? The line doesn't look great, but he outpitched Jered Weaver, another possible All-Sta...
