ARLINGTON – The Cleveland Indians’ bullpen continues to be a factory of sadness as its relief arms blew another lead in a 6-3 loss against the Texas Rangers on Monday.   Lefty Scott Kazmir (3-3, 5.21) received the start for the Indians to counter Texas right-hander Josh Lindblom (0-1, 8.22). Kazmir was coming off a decent start against the New York Yankees in which he surrendered four runs on seven hits and two walks. Lindblom was recalled from triple-A Round Rock to fill the spot of Alexi Ogando, who was recently placed on the disabled list.   Texas struck first during their half of the second inning when catcher A.J. Pierzynski hit a two-out single and scored on a single to left by centerfielder Craig Gentry.   The Indians took control in the third due to a timely hit from first baseman Carlos Santana. Shortstop Mike Aviles led off the inning with a ground ball single before second baseman Jason Kipnis lined a one-out single to left and right fielder Nick Swisher drew a walk to lo...

DETROIT (AP) -- Cleveland Indians right-hander Carlos Carrasco has had his suspension for throwing at a hitter reduced from eight to seven games. He began serving it Sunday. Kinsler, Moreland among handful of healing Rangers

ARLINGTON, Texas For a team that's as beat up as the Texas Rangers are, Monday was a nice change of events. The Rangers actually got some good news on the injury front. Ian Kinsler was in the field working with Texas manager Ron Washington for the first time since he went on the disabled list May 19. Mitch Moreland, who is out with a right strained hamstring, feels like his...

Berkman, Rangers extend Tribe losing streak to 8

ARLINGTON, Texas Lance Berkman has been around baseball long enough to now that he would get another big hit sooner or later. It was still sweet for him to actually get one though. Berkman's two-run homer Monday broke a 3-3 tie with Cleveland Monday night and helped spark the Rangers to a 6-3 win to open an 11-game homestand. The club has now won consecutive games for the...

Q&A: Lance Berkman, Humble OPS Legacy

Lance Berkman has numbers worthy of the Hall of Fame. The longtime Houston Astro — and current Texas Ranger — boasts a career slash line of .295/.408/.540. His post-season rate stats — accumulated in 52 games — are even better. Berkman isn’t the boastful type. The 37-year-old switch-hitter acknowledges his accomplishments, but in a humble and understated manner that mirrors...
