Texas sent infielder Leury Garcia to the Chicago White Sox Sunday to complete the trade for Alex Rios.
Garcia started the season with the Rangers but has spent most of the last two months with Triple A Round Rock. Garcia, 22, was hitting .264 with four home runs and 19 RBI for the Express. He played in 25 games with the Rangers, batting .192 with an RBI and eight runs scored.
Texas acquired Rios and cash considerations Friday from Chicago.
Rios has started two games with the Rangers and has totaled four hits in the two games.
