Baltimore Ravens inside linebacker Ray Lewis (52) celebrates after a play during the first half of an NFL wild card playoff football game against the Indianapolis Colts Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, in Baltimore. (AP Photo/Patrick Semansky) Both teams came into this game riding emotional highs; The Colts for their coach as well as assistant coach who has some medical condition as of last night, and the Ravens who are using Ray Lewis’ pending retirement as extra motivation. The result was a horrendously fantastic game to watch. Horrendous because both teams were terrible; Fantastic because the Broncos get to play the chump who won. Step right up Baltimore, for you are about to be thrown into the meat grinder known as the Denver Broncos. My instant reaction to this game is “wow, both these teams are horrible!” The Ravens had a few nice long runs and a few nice long passes, but c’mon, Chris Harris isn’t gonna allow those garbage completions. Additionally, Woodyard and Miller won’t allow those 30, 40, and 50 yard runs. The Colts had every opportunity to win this game, but showed the world that just because you made the playoffs doesn’t mean you are a “playoff team” (i.e. the Broncos of last year). The Colts stumbled and fumbled their way out of this game. For a team that has Luck on their side, they sure couldn’t catch a break! The Ravens weren’t much better, but did capitalize on sophomoric type defense. Like I said, if Flacco thinks he can close his eyes and heave a rainbow into a crowd 50 yards down the field against Champ and Harris, he’ll find himself benched by halftime. While next week will bring more emotion from Ray Lewis, the talent difference that the Broncos bring will just be too much for the Ravens to overcome. What was my reaction to the game as the Ravens started pulling away? It was simply this, “Man, the Broncos are in the AFC Championship Game!!!” Normally I’m nervous before Broncos games… Not this week! If the Ravens even slightly resemble the team that hit the field in Baltimore today, they’re gonna get blown out by 20 in Denver! Sorry Ravens, but by winning today, you became the biggest loser. I’ll go ahead and overlook Baltimore because I know that Peyton Manning wont! Bring on the Patriots or Texans, cause we got this next one in the bag!
