Reggie Brown may remain an Eagle for the rest of 2009, but he will spend most of the season on the inactive list.

When the 53-man rosters were set in place a week ago, a lot of people, including myself, expected wide receiver Reggie Brown to be either traded or simply cut. If they chose to keep seven receivers active then Danny Amendola would be the seventh active on the roster.

Reggie Brown remains on the team and those of us who are hoping for him to get the boot sometime soon better forget about it. It seems Brown will be on the Eagles roster for the remainder of the 2009 season.

Adam Caplan of Scouts.com wrote that Brown was still on the Eagles 53-man roster after Saturdays 4PM eastern deadline, which is when base salaries are guaranteed for vested veterans - Brown happens to be a vested veteran.

Even though Brown has been on the Eagles roster longer than any other Eagles receiver, he will likely be inactive on game days unless injuries hamper the other six receivers on the team.

Brown spent the end half of last season on the inactive list. Which brings up a good question, why keep the guy on the roster if you're going to continue to keep him inactive? And what is the real reason Brown is being shutdown during these games? I know he's not the best receiver but he's not that horrible either. So did Brown do something to slight the Eagles organization?

Reggie Brown is expected to be (once again) inactive for tomorrow's game at Carolina.
