REJOYCE!: Donovan McNabb and Brian Westbrook returned to practice today
According to the Philadelphia Inquirer's blog on Philly.com, "Birds' Eye View" posted by Jeff McLane. Eagles starting Quarterback Donovan McNabb along with starting running back Brian Westbrook, returned to practice today.
Donovan McNabb fractured his rib during the Eagles first game of the season at Carolina. The fracture forced him to miss two back-to-back games against the New Orleans Saints and the Kansas City Chiefs. Eagles backup quarterback, Kevin Kolb filled in for him during both games, losing terribly against the Saints, although Kolb put up solid numbers aside from a few INT's. Then he came back and performed amazingly against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Brian Westbrook only missed one game against the Kansas City Chiefs, while suffering an ankle sprain. This is the same ankle which forced him to have surgery done and miss the entire preseason and training camp. Westbrook's backup, LeSean "Shady" McCoy filled in admirably for B-West. He compiled 85 yards and a touchdown in the game against the Chiefs
Both players have tomorrow off and McNabb and Eagles head coach Andy Reid don't meet with media until this upcoming Wednesday. But it has been expected ever since Donovan had fractured his rib in Carolina that his comeback date would be this upcoming Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. If all goes well with Brian Westbrook he will also make his comeback during that game as well.
