Andy Reid had been the longest-tenured NFL head coach before he was fired by the Philadlephia Eagles on Monday. Now, it appears the team is wasting no time finding a successor who they hope can stay just as long.
According to WIP Radio’s Howard Eskin, Eagles owner Jeffrey Loria has five names on his list of possible head coaches, including Penn State head coach Bill O’Brien and Oregon’s Chip Kelly. The other names on that list are Falcons offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter, 49ers offensive coordinator Greg Roman and Colts interim head coach Bruce Arians.
O’Brien and Kelly are two of the biggest names in the college ranks this season, but it’s unclear how much interest they have in ascending to the pro ranks.
