Twitter/@CharissaT Jason McIntyre over at The Big Lead is reporting this morning that SportsNation host Charissa Thompson will be leaving ESPN for Fox Sports. Thompson has worked at the Worldwide Leader for two years, but will be returning to her roots at Fox, where she was once a sideline reporter for both college football and college basketball games. Thompson has also done stints with the Big Ten Network, Versus and GSN. Thompson is the fourth big-name female talent to leave ESPN in the past few years. Erin Andrews left for Fox in July of 2012, Michelle Beadle bolted for NBC in May of 2012, and Rachel Nichols moved on to CNN/Turner in January of 2013. It is not known in what capacity Thompson will be reporting/hosting, but if she’s leaving a gig where she hosts one of the more popular sports shows on television, you can bet it’s going to be a prominent role. Best of luck, Charissa.
