According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Dallas Cowboys have asked offensive tackle Doug Free to take a pay cut. The Dallas Cowboys have asked starting right tackle Doug Free to take a pay cut from his $7 million salary due in 2013, according to two sources with knowledge of the team’s intentions. The move would free up money for the Cowboys to be able to sign free-agent offensive tackle Eric Winston. As of Monday, there was a high level of mutual interest between the Cowboys and Winston. Talks were “heating up,” according to one source who speaks to Winston. But with theCowboys having so little salary-cap space (even with Tony Romo’s new deal freeing up $5 million this year), they want to make room. There was also a report that the Cowboys aren’t interested in Winston.  But I tend to believe Rapoport who’s very accurate with his reports.   Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; script.src = 'http://widget.crowdignite.com/widgets/27484?_ci_wid=_CI_widget_'+_CI.counter; script.async = true; ref.parentNode.insertBefore(script, ref); })();

IRVING, Texas There are two problems with the reports that have the Dallas Cowboys simultaneously negotiating a pay-cut contract for incumbent right tackle Doug Free while also negotiating a free-agent contract for prospective right tackle Eric Winston: Problem 1: That simultaneous orchestration doesn't make sense. DeMarcus Ware Needs To Step Up After His Tony Romo Rally Cry

The dust across the Texas prairies had just about settled after the announcement of quarterback Tony Romo's contract extension.For some it made logical sense, tie the man up, make him the cornerstone of everything you stand for.For others it seemed plain ludicrous, the amount of money paid out on a player that has only led his team to one playoff win in his time under center...

Most Obscure Player of 1975: Kyle Davis

The 1975 draft for the Cowboys remains part of the team’s great legacy. Twelve players made the squad in 1975, which turned out to be a Super Bowl year.
