Fox Sports Southwest:
According to ESPN, Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel's getting paid to sign autographs wasn't a one-time deal.
Manziel allegedly was paid 7,500 to sign helmets while attending a Walter Camp Foundation event in January according to a report released Tuesday. That event was after the Manziel trip to Miami in which ESPN's Outside the Lines reported that Manziel was also paid a flat five-figure for his signatures during a trip to the BCS National Championship game.
Manziel has not commented on either of the reports.
He did work out with his team Monday when the Aggies opened practice in College Station. As of Sunday, Manziel was scheduled to speak at the media day but that decision was changed after the first ESPN report broke.
Texas A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin said Manziel would continue to get the No. 1 starter repetitions at practice, even as an NCAA investigation into Manziel's activities looms.
The school has hired Lightfoot, Franklin and White, the same Alabama-based law firm that Auburn hired when Cam Newton had issues with the NCAA in 2010.

The Manziel’s, Paul and Michelle, bought the home in June 2011 to be closer to their son during his college career, per Realtor.com. The four bedroom/3.5 bathroom home is located in Bryan, Texas, which is...
In the wake of allegations that Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel may have received payment for autographed memorabilia, Texas A&M has retained the services of a law firm that knows a thing or two about NCAA investigations. Is this a sign that Johnny Manziel is leaving Texas A&M for the NFL after the season? His parents are selling their College Station home.
Last season’s Heisman winner Johnny Manziel is back in the headlines again (surprise!), but this time things are getting even more serious. According to a report by ESPN’s Outside The Lines, the NCAA is investigating whether Manziel is profiting off of hundreds of autographs he signed while down in Miami for the BCS Championship Game. Per the report:
Johnny Football’s gotta’ go. The name, that is, and it’s about time. The eligibility thing? NCAA will settle that question. You’ve gotta’ earn a handle like “Johnny Football,” and frankly, John Manziel just can’t pull it off. As for the media fixation, what are ya’ gonna’ do? Johnny’s a few accolades and at least 12 fluid ounces of good-judgment short of carrying...
Hard to do a Texas A&M football season preview without just writing Johnny Manziel, Johnathan Manziel, Johnny Football, Johnny Freaking Football, JFF over and over again. He’s the only example of a college football player being a bigger figure than his coach or his program. I’m not saying #2 is more powerful than A&M football, or Coach Kevin Sumlin, I’m just saying...
There's no doubt the uncertainly surrounding the future of Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel could have a huge impact on the Aggies' bid to become national championship contenders.
But if the Aggies don't fill in some huge holes on defense, even if Manziel plays and once again puts up Heisman Trophy-type numbers, it might not matter much.
The Aggies know that...
It seems almost as soon as the news hit that the NCAA was investigating Johnny Manziel for allegedly receiving money for signing autographs for a memorabilia broker, everyone started looking into other Heisman Trophy candidates for the 2013 college football season. Two of the names look at were South Carolina Gamecocks defensive end Jadeveon Clowney and the other was new Heisman...
No shirt. No shoes. No signature.
Do you all remember Iceman’s shockingly epic rant against Johnny Manziel from two weeks ago? In case you missed it, here is the link. You would think that a completely objectionable man-child would love an equally objectionable man-child but you would be gravely mistaken. That tirade came after Juan Futbol’s hilarious exploits at the Manning...
