The Oakland Raiders appear to be addressing their glaring need for a long-snapper to replace injured Jon Condo. Travis Tripucka said in his twitter account that he is headed for Oakland, according to the Bay Area News Group, which suggests he is going to work out for the Raiders as a long snapper. "Oakland California, here I come!" said Tripucka (@LunchMeat8) said on Twitter. "Another opportunity. Couldn't be happier! Raider Nation better be ready for the lunchmeat." The Raiders had not released any information about Tripucka as of early Wednesday afternoon. Condo, who suffered a concussion on Monday, won't play Sunday against the Miami Dolphins unless he passes a series of tests. With Condo out on Monday, Travis Goethel rolled two snaps back to the punter and a third punt was blocked.

The Oakland Raiders injury situation continues to grow. Starting cornerback Ron Bartell suffered a fracture to the scapula in his shoulder. Wide receiver Jacoby Ford, who missed the season opener, had successful surgery on his Lisfranc injury today. Ford suffered the same injury last year to the same foot and will be out an extended period of time.
“He’s obviously out for...
TThe Oakland Raiders showed the world last night how important a long snapper can be to your team’s successes (or in this case, mind-numbing failures).
After their starting Pro Bowl long snapper Jon Condo left the game with a head injury, back up linebacker Travis Goethel stepped in and tried to fill his shoes … despite not having long snapped since high school. And almost...
Oakland cornerback Pat Lee is no stranger to coming off the bench in emergency situations.
He did it in the Super Bowl two years ago while with Green Bay, helping the Packers secondary hold on after injuries put Charles Woodson and Sam Shields on the sidelines.
Now he's being asked to do the same for the Raiders - albeit on a significantly smaller stage.
Starter Ron Bartell...
(Eds: APNewsNow. Will be updated. With AP Photos.) By JOSH DUBOW AP Sports Writer The high-risk, high-reward passes that characterized Carson Palmer's first half-season as Oakland Raiders quarterback were absent in the season opener.
Instead of taking chances for big plays down the field in the passing game, Palmer mostly chose the safer route of dumpoffs to running back Darren...
Oakland Raiders wide receiver Jacoby Ford was scheduled to have surgery on his left foot Tuesday afternoon in North Carolina and will miss a number of games, head coach Dennis Allen said during his weekly media conference on Tuesday. It's uncertain whether Ford is out for the season. "Basically, it's the same injury he had last year. He re-injured it this season ...
As a whole, the Oakland Raiders played a very sloppy game against San Diego. The sloppy play resulted in a 14-22 loss on Monday night. While there was a lot of poor play against the Chargers, some players did their part and really helped the Raiders out. Preventing this game from becoming a complete blowout [...]
A Contra Costa Times report is calling injured Raiders receiver Denarius Moore "a lock" to play Sunday versus the Dolphins.Fantasy Spin:Moore skipped Monday night's game because of an injured hamstring. His presence reduces the values of fellow Oakland wideouts Darrius Heyward-Bey and Rod Streater.
I already covered this game, but I recently learned something about NFL history. On September 10, 1978, the Raiders won a game against the Chargers in the most amazing manner-- an offensive fumble recovery for a touchdown.Even back then, NFL rules limited forward passes to once per play and only from behind the line of scrimmage. If the ball hit the ground, it was considered incomplete...
The Oakland Raiders have more problems than a bad long snapper, as the offense was manhandled and the defense lacked discipline.
The late Monday night game showcasing the Oakland Raiders and San Diego Chargers was probably missed by fans of either team who reside on the East Coast as the contest ended after one in the morning. That was probably for the best as Oakland lost what looked to be a battle of ineptitude 22-14.Early risers might have been fooled initially by the final score into thinking it was...

The offense was horrendous, putrid and every other hanus word that is in the dictionary.Yes, I stated that in my recent power rankings, and it should be stated that Darren McFadden hauled in 13 passes in the home loss.
Carson Palmer was abysmal although the number won’t state such, but it didn’t help matters that their top targets were inactive.
Week 1 of the highly-anticipated 2012 NFL regular season wrapped up in the wild west in a division battle between the Oakland Raiders and San Diego Chargers on Sept. 10 on Monday Night Football.
The story of the Chargers’ less-than-thrilling 22-14 win over Oakland was the Raiders’ rudderless offense and shabby special teams play. Quarterback Carson Palmer was without Jacoby...
Now that Kelly Clarkson and Travie McCoy have released anthems supporting their teams, it was only a matter of time before Pepsi let the original black and silver fan Ice Cube come out with his song “Come and Get It” for the Oakland Raiders.
