Despite no official announcement, ESPN is reporting that the Tampa Bay Rays and C Jose Molina have agreed to terms. The 36-year old catcher posted a career-high .281 BA in 2011. The catcher position struggled in Tampa this season with C Kelly Shoppach struggling offensively for the Rays this season. Molina is the brother of Bengie and Yadier Molina. The right handed catcher has spent time with five different MLB clubs, most recently in 2011 with the Toronto Blue Jays. Molina has playing history with Tampa Bay Rays manager Joe Maddon, playing for the Angels from 2001-2005.He broke into the league with a brief stint with the Chicago Cubs and spent three seasons with the New York Yankees. Tampa Bay currently has four other catchers on their roster- John Jaso, Jose Lobaton, Robinson Chirinos and Nevin Ashley.
