It’s no secret that the dissolution of Tiger Woods‘ marriage to supermodel Elin Nordegren set off a chain of events — beginning Thanksgiving 2009 — which precipitated perhaps the hardest fall from grace an athlete has experienced since O.J. Simpson. Moreover, given the details that came out regarding Woods and his harem of lovers — the text messages, the deception, the sheer number of women — reconciliation with Nordegren was probably never on anyone’s mind. Except Woods’, apparently. According to reports, the former No. 1 golfer has been desperate to win Nordegren back, and on Christmas actually got down on one knee and formally proposed, new ring and all, to his ex-wife. But whether or not they’re actually getting back together is still up in the air. Woods has apparently offered Nordegren a $200 million prenuptial agreement — about one-third of his net worth — but the Swiss model is holding out for a $350 million cheating clause. She won a $110 settlement in her initial divorce from Woods. The story was initially reported in The National Enquirer, but now cannot be found on their website. Nonetheless, Fox News and the British tabloid The Sun have both picked up the story, citing the Enquirer. Woods and Nordegren have two children together, ages three and five.
