O.J. Mayo had a miserable output against his former team, the Memphis Grizzlies, scoring 2 points on 1-6 shooting to go along with 4 turnovers in the 103-97 loss and Mavs coach Rick Carlisle didn’t hold back as he unloaded on the starting shooting guard. According to ESPN Dallas: “I called that timeout just to get you out of the game!” Carlisle screamed at Mayo in the huddle, according to one player. [...] “I just want to see him show up,” said Carlisle,…“I just want to see him show up and compete. He didn’t compete tonight.” [...] “But I tell you what, if I was playing against my former team, I’d come out ready to go. I’d come out ready to go at them. But that’s me. You know, that’s me.”

On ‘Tony Allen Karaoke Night’ Tony Allen sang karaoke…poorly (pics/vids)

On Tuesday, Memphis Grizzlies guard Tony Allen held “Tony Allen Karaoke Night,” a charity event benefiting the Juvenile Intervention and Faith-Based Follow-Up. Allen was scheduled to meet with fans and sign autographs, but the high point (or low point, depending on one’s perspective) of the evening had to be when he took the microphone to sing some karaoke jams. It was the...

Grizzlies waive C Dexter Pittman

The Memphis Grizzlies have waived center Dexter Pittman, who played in only seven games with the team after being acquired in a trade from the Miami Heat. The Grizzlies announced the move Sunday. Memphis acquired the 6-foot-11 Pittman on Feb. 21 in a trade that also brought a 2013 second-round draft pick from the Heat in exchange for the draft rights to Ricky Sanchez. Pittman...

Carlisle calls out Mayo on bad performance

Dallas Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle can be one of the best quotes in the NBA. Monday night was one of those times when he delivered some truth that many NBA coaches would shy away from. Clearly unhappy with the performance of shooting guard O.J. Mayo, who finished with two points and four turnovers on 1-of-6 shooting, Carlisle let loose when asked about Mayo's outing in a 103...

Tony Allen Butchers Montell Jordan’s “This Is How We Do It”

Memphis Grizzlies defensive specialist Tony Allen committed one of the classic blunders of karaoke Tuesday night when he decided it’d be a good idea to rap along to Montell Jordan’s classic mid-90s hit “This Is How We Do It”. As with many popular rap songs, most people don’t realize how few lines they actually know until the spotlight is on (the worst example of this is...

Grizzlies rally for 103-97 win over Mavericks

DALLAS -- Thanks to Keyon Dooling and the rest of the Memphis bench, the Grizzlies still have a chance to stay home after their regular-season finale to start the playoffs. Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks can only hope to break even. Grizzlies guard, Tony Allen, hosted his “Tony Allen Karaoke Night” event Tuesday to benefit the Juvenile Intervention and Faith-Based Follow-Up (JIFF) where he got on the mic and stumbled through Montell Jordan’s “This Is How We Do It” and Michael Jackson’s “Rock With You.” I can’t believe I was having trouble with the words 2 / “This is how we Do it!! — Tony...

Rick Carlisle Blast O.J. Mayo For Being So Inconsistent

When the Dallas Mavericks signed O.J. Mayo to a free agent deal this summer, both parties figured it would provide a fresh start for Mayo, and some needed scoring and star power for the Mavericks. Things have not gone according to plan.  Mayo started the season off strong averaging 16.4 points a game on 46.2 percent shooting and 41.6 percent from three. Those numbers were career...
