The Mavs didn't draft the 21-year-old Frenchman to stash him in Europe for a season or two. Rodrigue Beaubois will come to Dallas for a press conference tomorrow, play in the NBA summer league and be on the roster this season. Rick Carlisle wouldn't commit to Beaubois having a role in the regular rotation. But Carlisle believes Beaubois, who averaged 10.0 ppg (63-percent shooting) and 2.3 apg in the French League last season, can contribute as a rookie. "I do think he'll be a guy who can be a tempo-changer," said Carlisle, who described Beaubois as an energetic, dynamic athlete with a lot of upside. "We believe he can be a guy who can be a factor for us defensively in certain matchups. "The point guards you have to face in the Western Conference is a murderer's row -- Nash, Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Tony Parker, right on down the line. So having another quick, athletic, tough-minded long athlete to throw out there against these guys is an asset for us."
