PLAYERS: Roger Goodell
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said tonight that the NFL “definitely” will not change a rule that penalizes teams for throwing an illegal challenge flag during the regular season but could address it before the playoffs. “I don’t expect it before the end of the regular season,” Goodell said during an appearance at the Lions’ Courage House dinner. “We may evaluate it as it relates to the postseason. But it certainly will get consideration by the competition committee in the off-season.” Goodell said it’s important the NFL not rush to a decision on how to rework the rule. Currently, all scoring plays and turnovers are subject to booth reviews. A team is penalized 15 yards and no automatic review is granted after an illegal challenge. “When we make any rule changes it’s important to look at the unintended consequences of those rules,” Goodell said. “That’s why the competition committee spends weeks evaluating and trying to evaluate will it have an impact on the game that we’re not anticipating. “We’re going to look at everything, but we’re definitely not changing it for the regular season.” Source: Detroit Free Press Attached Thumbnails

Goodell: difficult to say if Suh groin kick was intentional

Either Ndamukong Suh just got away with murder (ok, just a little kick), or his leg went mysteriously up in the air in an akward manner as Matt Schaub's acorn sack collided with his foot; just a simple misunderstanding. Football In India Sounds Fun

Roger Goodell has made his goal of establishing no fewer than 10 teams in international markets as soon as he can uproot existing franchises to create unwieldy, logistical nightmares for everyone. With that in mind, it’s important to familiarize ourselves with existing football culture in other countries so we have jokes prepared for when the Jaguars move there. And apparently...
