Mike Gonzalez has seen a decline in his productivty in recent years.  That's probably part of why he did not get a longer deal this offseason.  However, Gonzalez did get a deal.  According to sources, he has signed with the Milwaukee Brewers. Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reports the deal to be a one-year contract. Source: #Brewers agree with Mike Gonzalez. — Ken Rosenthal (@Ken_Rosenthal) December 28, 2012 Gonzalez deal with #Brewers is for 1 year. — Ken Rosenthal (@Ken_Rosenthal) December 28, 2012 Gonzalez pitched for the Washington Nationals last season.  He posted a solid 3.03 ERA in 47 relief appearances.  However, he struggled in 2010 and 2011.  In '10, Gonzalez had a 4.01 ERA with Baltimore.  In '11, he split time between the Orioles and the Texas Rangers and posted an unsightly 4.39 ERA.  Despite the rough patch, Gonzalez has a career 2.94 ERA in 434 games. Gonzalez suffered a torn meniscus in his left knee in 2011 and had offseason surgery to repair it.  He came back in 2012 with the Nationals and remained healthy.  However, he is 34 years old and if you were to trend his ERA over the last four seasons, it would be trending up despite last year's performance.  The deal with the Brewers likely won't be a large one.
