Pardon the cheesy title and the ridiculously long gap in between posts, but the offseason has been dragging by ever so slowly. That being said, Chicago Now reports that sources around the Bulls organization are beginning to question rookie forward James Johnson's work ethic. While this rumor may have some merit behind it, I still think that it's too early to call into question Johnson's character. Rookies make mistakes, and most of them learn to clean up their acts as their careers advance. Derrick Rose slipped up a couple of times along the way, but he seems to be maturing. Joakim Noah allegedly had attitude problems his rookie year, but he made excellent strides last year both in his game and in his maturity level. Sure, Johnson may have put on a few pounds since his college career ended, but he apparently did well in the summer league, and he has plenty of time to put in the work he needs before the season starts. If there are attitude issues, I hope they get resolved sooner rather than later, but, as with all rookies, I think it's too soon to point the finger and raise the red flags.
