West Virginia head coach Bill Stewart (L) and Florida State head coach Bobby Bowden greet at mid-field prior to the start of the Konica Minolta Gator Bowl January 1, 2010 in Jacksonville, Florida. The Gator Bowl will be Bobby Bowden Image via Yardbarker The college football hot stove is a churnin’. A host of schools- Colorado, Minnesota, and Miami are all on the hunt. Fansided’s own Hail WV tossed out that WVU may, in fact be on the look out for a new head man at seasons end. Among the names mentioned as possible replacements are FSU Assistant Head Coach Rick Trickett, Terry Bowden, and Tommy Bowden. My opinion? All 3 of those guys are absolutely horrible choices. Trickett would be similar to Stewart in him being a ”West Virginia Guy” and also being an under qualified assistant. The Bowdens? Old news in college football. You want a name whose gettable, with ties, and whose a home run hire? Stanford Head Coach Jim Harbaugh. His star QB, Andrew Luck, is the son of new WVU AD Oliver Luck. Word is Harbaugh and the Lucks are obviously tight and Harbaugh wouldn’t mind moving east, a short plane ride from his brother, Ravens Head Coach John Harbaugh. If Oliver Luck wants a home run hire, Jim Harbaugh must be at the top of his list, not a washed up Bowden brother.
