Texans Tail Gate:
Cheer up, Brian! It's the regular season. The Texans will figure it out. Right?
No kool-aid here. I saw it. I smelled it. I called it.
1. The offensive line is weak. 4th and 1 is always a special teams play for this team. Questionable spot or not, this team is simply not tough on offense. Why no more roll outs? Athletic OLBs chasing after our fragile QB is not a favorable situation.
2. The coverage is so poor that the defensive line doesn't have time to get pressure. Mario's sacks were products of over-confidence by the Steelers and a temporary lapse in our bad coverage. Every success the Steelers had in the first three quarters was due to our inability to cover. Yes, even the draw for TD #2 by Parker. Their second half running success was generated by our timidness towards the pass.
3. Special teams were not special at all. Our starting position was poor, which shortened the field for the Steeler offense.
Did anyone see something that suggested this was not a complete failure? We can look forward to being at home in week 2. With a rookie QB and a less explosive offense. The defense will provide similar struggles to the Steelers. If we can't establish an ability to run the football, I believe we will struggle to score even field goals. I'll be on the scene with a coach's tape view. I fear the worst, yet hope for the best. Let's see if the coaching staff can find some way to hide our personnel deficiencies.
Anyone hear that Ah!Man now has an ankle injury? I like where this is heading.
