San Francisco 49ers offensive lineman Al Netter was arrested Wednesday by the San Jose CHP and charged with driving under the influence. Netter was cited for having a blood alcohol count above the legal limit of .08, according to the Santa Rose Press Democrat.
“The 49ers are aware of the recent matter involving Al Netter,” the 49ers said in a statement through publicity director Bob Lange. “We take these issues very seriously, but will reserve comment at this time as this is an ongoing legal matter. The organization will continue to gather the facts and monitor the developments closely.”

The 6-6, 310-pound tackle spent this past season on the practice squad after joining the Niners late last April as an undrafted free agent out of Northwestern. He had the opportunity to take his talents to another team in 2012 but opted to spend his first season on the practice squad in San Francisco.
