The Michigan State women's basketball team improved to 4-0 in Big Ten play, utilizing a 12-0 run late in the second half to pull away from Indiana, 67-47 on Thursday night at Breslin Center. Senior Porsche Poole scored a game-high 16 points, and freshman Kiana Johnson dished out a season-high 10 assists in the win.
The Michigan State gymnastics team traveled to No. 25 Iowa on Friday (Jan. 13) for its first road action of the season. The Spartans lost to the Hawkeyes 193.225-190.175 but Taira Neal and Ashley Noll each notched career-best performances.
Michigan State looks to snap a three-game skid as it hosts Northern Michigan at Munn Ice Arena. MSU is 33-28-3 all-time against NMU, and owns a 18-10-2 mark in games played at Munn Arena. MSU has won just three times in the last dozen meetings, which includes a split in November at the Berry Events Center in Marquette.

The University of Iowa women's gymnastics team opened its home season in Carver-Hawkeye Arena with a 193.225-190.175 win over Michigan State Friday evening.
