Found September 06, 2013 on NFL Trade Rumors:
Adam Caplan reports that the Seattle Seahawks worked out former Giants DT Marvin Austin this week. Austin, 24, was selected in the second-round of the 2011 draft, but only appeared in eight games for the Giants due to injuries and a suspension. The Lions also met with Austin since his release. Seattle has a pretty deep group of defensive lineman, although a few players are dealing with injuries. It’s hard to say what Austin offers given that he’s played in only a handful of games since entering the NFL.     The post Seahawks Bring In DT Marvin Austin For A Workout appeared first on NFL Trade Rumors -.

Giant questions for the 2013-2014 New York Giants

After a long and grueling offseason, football has finally arrived. Finally, I can relive watching 10 hours of football every Sunday while switching simultaneously between NFL Red Zone and New York Giants’ games. While this should make me anxious and excited for the sport I love, this season does not seem as promising. In years past, I would have a stronger sense of optimism and...

Seahawks injury report: Cliff Avril, Chris Clemons, Sidney Rice

This week, the Seattle Seahawks travel to the east coast to visit the Carolina Panthers. As of Thursday evening, there are still several players whose game status is up in the air. Perhaps the most important is defensive end Cliff Avril, who was acquired by Seattle during the offseason via free agency. Avril previously played for the Detroit Lions where he wreaked havoc off...

Jason Pierre-Paul More Questionable Than Probable for Week One?

New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin normally leans towards the conservative side, however that doesn't seem the case in regards to Jason Pierre-Paul. Pierre-Paul who underwent back surgery during the off season is still recovering although Coughlin said he is "full speed ahead". Many within the organization feel like Pierre-Paul's status for week one is more...

Giants at Cowboys: What To Watch For On Sunday Night Football

The rivalry between the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys continues on Sunday night in Dallas. In recent years, Eli Manning and Tony Romo have provided us with some thrilling football and memorable moments and Sunday night looks to be no different. Here are three things to look for heading into week 1:1. Jason Witten vs. the Giants' LinebackersDez Bryant gets most of the buzz...

Seattle Seahawks: Secondary Storylines

When discussing the strengths of the Seattle Seahawks, the secondary has to be towards the top of the list. This is undoubtedly one of the most loaded line-ups of defensive backs in the NFL. So loaded, in fact, that free-agent acquisition Antoine Winfield opted for retirement when it became clear that he would be cut in favor of 2010 draft pick Walter Thurmond. In a defensive...

Three Key Players For A Seattle Seahawks Victory Against The Carolina Panthers

If the Seattle Seahawks enjoyed one advantage at the start of the 2012 season that they do not enjoy now, it’s the element of surprise. Much is expected of the 2013 Seahawks. They are the chic Super Bowl pick for many a publication and online prognosticator. This contrasts sharply to the squad that opened the 2012 season with a heart-breaking loss against division rival the...

Seattle Seahawks Rookies To Watch

The Seattle Seahawks played their last preseason game a week ago, beating the Oakland Raiders 22-6.  Usually the last preseason game isn’t important for the starters – for example, QB Russell Wilson only played one series against the Raiders.  But he only needed one to complete three of three, passing 68 yards for a three minute opening drive that ended in the Hawks first touchdown...

Week 1: Seahawks at Panthers (9/13)

Back in the twilight of the Holmgren years (and that lone, painful season under Mora), a game on the east coast was basically a penciled loss for the Seahawks, and if the game had an early start you could just go ahead and mark it down in ink.  Last year, thankfully, that wasn't the case.  Including the playoffs, the Hawks went 4-2 on the eastern seaboard, and the only things...

NFC West Breakdown

Seattle Seahawks Prediction: 1st in division (13-3 overall) Strengths: The 12th man. The Seahawks are just brutal to play at home. Defense gave up just over 11 points per game last season at home. They didn’t lose a game at home either. Oh and Marshawn Lynch is a beast. Russell Wilson is a stud. And Pete Carroll just loves winning. Causes for concern: Not too many causes for concern...
