Sportsday:
For the second straight week the Cowboys defense did not get off to a good start, but this time it did not result in a touchdown, rather a 43-yard field goal by OIindo Mare for a 3-0 Seattle lead with 6:58 to play.
Julius Jones was booed lightly by the crowd but he was cutting and juking his way for some decent yards and Matt Hasselbeck made a couple of good throws. Credit defensive end Stephen Bowen for keeping it to a field goal.
The Cowboys brought everybody on third down except Bowen and he knocked down a screen pass to Justin Forsett. Had Forsett caught the ball he would have had a first down if not more because there was about 15 yards of open field in front of him.
We'll see if the defense can repeat its Atlanta effort on the second drive. This is the third time this year the Cowboys have allowed the opponent to score on its opening drive.
