Seattle defensive tackle Brandon Mebane returned to full participation in practice Friday and is expected to play at Carolina on Sunday.

Mebane was held out of practice Thursday with a calf injury. Mebane has a history of calf ailments in the past, missing one game in the 2009 season and four in 2010 due to calf issues.

Cornerback Marcus Trufant is questionable with a back issue that kept him out of practice Wednesday and Thursday and Carroll said he will be a game-time decision.

Defensive tackle Jaye Howard and Guard John Moffitt are both ruled with foot injuries.

Warren Moon says Pete Carroll needs to stop having Russell Wilson play like a robot

Former Seattle Seahawks great Warren Moon believes that head coach Pete Carroll needs to stop having rookie quarterback Russell Wilson play like a robot to limit turnovers. “He feels that he can do more and handle more than they’re giving him,” Moon told Doug Farrar of Shutdown Corner. “You’ve got to remember — Pete’s a defensive coach, and he preaches, ‘Turnovers...

Seahawks reportedly concerned about Matt Flynn’s elbow

According to Dan Arkush of ProFootballWeekly.com, the Seatlte Seahawks are still concerned about the Matt Flynn’s elbow. One of the reasons it wouldn’t make sense to bench Russell Wilson in favor of Flynn if the Seahawks don’t improve, is that no one knows how his elbow will hold up. “The thing is, they’re giving Wilson the great majority of reps in practice, because they...

How will the Seahawks have changed by week 17

The first quarter of the 2012 season is over, surprised as fans and analysts may be the Arizona Cardinals are holding the top spot in the NFC West. Before the start of season the prevailing opinion was the 49′ers were not only the best team in their division but in the entire NFL. While San Francisco has played well, a loss to the Minnesota Vikings has relegated them to second...

*My* five Seahawks impressions from the first quarter of the 2012 NFL season

2 – 2 through the first 4 games Impressions, such a funny word isn’t it? Root word is impress, as in I would like to see the Seattle Seahawks impress me over the next quarter of the season. Past tense is impressed, as in the Seahawks defense really impressed me during the first half of the Monday Night Football game against the Packers. Impressions? Now that is a totally...

Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch Back At Practice, DT Brandon Mebane Sidelined

Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch was back to full participation after being listed as partial participation Wednesday for rest. Defensive tackle Brandon Mebane, who has been enjoying a very good season, did not practice Thursday and is listed as having a calf injury. Pete Carroll doesn't talk with reporters on Thursday, so we don't know the severity of the injury, or...

Seattle Seahawks 2012 fearless matchup predictions – Episodes 5-8

Replacement Refs, QB Controversy, Inconsistencies In part one of our four part series, NWSB examined the first four games of the Seattle Seahawks‘ 2012 schedule.  Fearlessly, I predicted that the Seahawks would find themselves sitting with a record of 3-1 at this point in the season and, needless to say, I was wrong. It’s been a frustrating campaign so far — to say the least...

Five Seattle Seahawks who must impress vs. Panthers Sunday

Superman’s kryptonite It’s week 5 for the Seattle Seahawks as they head into Carolina this weekend to take on the Panthers. The Seahawks will be looking to recover from a devastating loss against the Rams last week and will have their work cut out for them against Cam Newton and company. The offense sputtered last week for Seattle, who blew multiple chances to win the game against...

NFL First Quarter Report Card: Seattle Seahawks

I will try to ignore the controversy that took place 2 weeks ago, but I admit it will be hard to avoid. At 2-2 the Seattle Seahawks have been on quite a roller coaster. A big win vs. the Dallas Cowboys showed how strong this team can be at times, while losses against the Cardinals and Rams also frustrated Seahawks fans. When you throw in some luck, and some great defense it has...

Marshawn Lynch was a full participant in practice for the Sehawks

According to Eric D. Williams of the Tacoma News Tribune, Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch fully participated in practice on Thursday. This is great news since Lynch has been limited for the first quarter of the season with tightness in his back.

Video: Replacement referees admits that Green Bay probably should have beat Seattle.

Now that the replacement refs are cruising through the wants ads looking for a Pop Warner team to put the screws to, some truth is coming to light. Replacement referee Wayne Elliott has stuck to his story that the touchdown call at the end of the Seattle Seahawks victory over the Green Bay Packers was the right call. Now a little over a week later, he’s backing off that stance...

Combating consensus: backing the Seahawks and Eagles

I was already on St.Louis over Arizona, in a game that showed us we’re entering correction week in the NFL. However, with the matchups tending to AFC vs. NFC rather than intra-conference games, we don’t have a lot of matchup data to point one way or the other, making trends hard to find and underdogs … Continue reading »

Replacement Refs Told Not To Call Pass Interfence On Hail Marys

You know, of course, about the Monday Night Football game from two weeks ago that gave the Seahawks a win they shouldn't have and set up the replacement officials from an unceremoniously exit from the NFL. But here's what you don't know about the Hail Mary that Russell Wilson threw to Golden Tate, who supposedly had a simultaneous catch with Green Bay safety M.D. Jennings...

Seahawks Announce Their Inactives For Week 5

Cornerback Marcus Trufant is active for Sunday's game after he was listed as questionable because of a sore back. Trufant has been Seattle's nickel back this season, coming onto the field in formations that call for five defensive backs. Byron Maxwell and Danny Gorrer practiced at that spot on Wednesday and Thursday when Trufant was sitting out because of the back. Gorrer...
