As sports fans we all love to see a player or coach’s obnoxious post game interview. We all have the Jim Mora “Playoffs!?!” sound bite in our heads every time we hear the word playoffs. There are over the top rants and then there are ones that are justified. Last night’s post game conference was justified. Ottawa Senators head coach Paul MacLean was frustrated with after their Game 4 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins.
At the end of the first period the Senators were winning 2-1. Unfortunately for Ottawa the Pittsburgh Penguins offense scored four goals in the third to beat the Senators 7-3.
After the game there would be no questions asked to coach MacLean from the media. He was upset and understandably so. He felt that there was no need to rehash what transpired in the game. I think he was right in his actions. He was so upset and it is better to not say anything that might get him in trouble. He just said what he needed to say and now he can prepare for Game 5.
