TEMPE Arizona States basketball program received national letters of intent Wednesday from three local basketball players: Chandler Hamilton center Eric Jacobsen, Tempe Corona del Sol combo guard Calean Robinson on Wednesday and Glendale Kellis forward Kenny Martin. Jacobsen, 6-feet-10, averaged 12.4 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.4 blocks a game for coach Kevin Hartwig at Hamilton, which went 15-11 last season, and also led the team in charges taken. Jacobsen, whose mother also was an ASU student-athlete, had interest from St. Marys and Washington State but settled on ASU as soon as he was offered. He is not afraid to mix it up. He has a great work ethic and runs the floor well for a big man, Hartwig said. He has good hands. He likes to bang inside but he can also step out and hit the perimeter shot. He plays hard all the time. He is still developing his low-post game. Robinson averaged 18.9 points, four steals and four assists last season, when Corona del Sol went 23-6, and had received scholarship offers from St. Marys and Brigham Young. Virginia, Clemson and Colorado, among others, also were said to have had interest. Hes very, very athletic, very quick. Laterally, his quickness is outstanding, Corona coach Sam Duane said. Hes a slasher type. He handles the ball well and can create off the dribble. He sees the floor really well. Martin, 6-8, averaged 12.9 points and 10.9 rebounds last season for a 22-4 Kellis team.
