The decision is in for Adam Woodbury. The near seven foot star center from Sioux City East (IA) spurned the opportunity to join the roster North Carolina, and picked an in-state program in Iowa, today according to multiple reports. Woodbury had a terrific spring and summer, which saw him selected as the MVP of prestigous NBPA Top 100 camp, among other honors. Wisconsin and Ohio State were cut from Woodbury’s list recently, and his decision came down to the Tar Heels and Hawkeyes.
This ends the prolific streak of coach Roy Williams in Iowa. As head man of Kansas, he plucked NBA players Raef Lafrentz, Kirk Hinrich and Nick Collison from Iowa, and landed current college sophomore Harrison Barnes, and 2012 recruit Marcus Paige to his current college, North Carolina. Woodbury stands out as a rarity that wasn’t swayed by Williams.
