At the league meetings in Arizona this week Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan expressed to NFL Network that his quarterback’s availability for the start of the 2013 campaign was unclear. This part was far from newsworthy as his status has been unclear for some time, however, his comments that the young QB needed to "[be taught] when to slide, when not to take a hit. These quarterbacks are so competitive, but they don’t realize sometimes how valuable they are to your franchise" are considerably out of place given that Shanahan's failure to realize as much contributed to Griffin's injury in the first place...
