Just want to bring this little Sixers draft history tidbit to you guys. An honest answer straight from the source - Larry Brown as to why they passed on Paul Pierce (and Dirk for that matter) and selected Larry Hughes. Ugh just painful.
Why the hell would you do that? What is the benefit of promising a player anything? And the good guy that Larry Brown is didn't want to go back on his promise because "it was the right thing to do" for his own personal repuation not for the well being of the Sixers franchise.
