PLAYERS: Brady Skjei
Chris Peters at United States of Hockey reports that while Brady Skjei (2012 - 1st) had some nice moments during the USA World Junior team's 3-2 overtime exhibition game win over Sweden, he doesn't think the Rangers 2012 first round pick did enough to secure him a spot on the final roster... "Skjei got a lot of time early in this game and I think he needed it to prove he’s ready for this tournament. I think he had some questionable decisions in his own zone, but as the game kept moving along he seemed to get better. When he was skating in open ice and using his strengths, he looked just fine, but I don’t know if he did enough today to move himself off the bubble. The big question for Skjei right now is, is he ready for this tournament? He has another year of eligibility and while experience this year would be good, I’m uncertain it’s his time just yet." ...while it would be a major disappointment for Skjei not to make the final roster, he's still one of ...

JT Miller and Brady Skjei make US World Junior club

This is a bit old, but J.T. Miller and Brady Skjei have both made the US team for this year’s World Junior Championships. Miller, who was on the team last year, will likely be named captain prior to the start of the tournament. This will be Skjei’s first year with the club. Skjei has already received comparisons to Ryan McDonagh, but it’s a bit early in the game to be making...

"It will come down to which Team USA needs more… Skjei’s size and skating or Sieloff’s physical game. Both move the puck well enough and each has good defensive awareness...

Some vacation

Brady Skjei (Minnesota Golden Gophers) A little of everything around the New York Ranger on Thursday as we get ready for the start of World Under-20 Championships. Guess somebody forgot to tell people that this was the holiday break. Brady Skjei (NYR 2012 1st) was in the lineup when Team USA took on Team Sweden in a warmup/evaluation/exhibition/every thing else game on Thursday...

Sometimes I wonder

(New York Rangers) Well this is going to make me very popular among the other New York Ranger bloggers but really what else can I say when I am watching all these "expert" opinions on how well the Ranger prospects are not doing? This lockout is leaving bloggers without Ranger content to write about so they turn to the CT Whale or the other Ranger prospects. I have...

Skjei Tries to Emulate McDonagh

Before boarding an airplane to Finland for the final days of USA World Junior camp, Rangers 2012 first round pick Brady Skjei admits to Katie Strang at ESPN.com that he emulates his game after Ryan McDonagh... “We’re both good-skating defensemen who can move the puck and if I can be half as good as him I’ll be happy. He’s a guy I’d like to play like and hopefully someday...

Wait until next year

Seth Jones (Portland Winterhawks) Team USA announced what will be their "almost" final roster for the 2013 World Under-20 Championships and Brady Skjei (NYR 2012 1st) was not on it. On the other hand J.T. Miller (NYR 2011 1st) did make the team and is expected to be named the captain. So of course there is going to be those who will automatically assume that Skjei is...
