Argentine legend Diego Maradona Argentine soccer legend Diego Maradona has turned down a proposal from Moroccan club Raja Casablanca to become its adviser and ambassador, the club said on Tuesday. The 52-year-old 1986 Fifa World Cup champion with Argentina proceeded to renew his sports ambassador contract worth $5 million in Dubai last week, dashing the hopes of the North Africans Club. Raja,who are Morocco new champions, had wanted to use the image of the former Argentina coach to promote the team to greater heights before and during the Fifa Club World Cup holding next December in Morocco. Raja officials say Maradona had shown great interest in the deal but that they are yet to understand why he eventually backed out.
