While the Seattle Sounders haven't had much trouble scoring at home, that certainly hasn't been the case when they've gone on the road.
The Sounders will try to end their two-game scoreless drought away from home Saturday night when they take on a San Jose Earthquakes team riding an eight-game home unbeaten streak.
Seattle (7-6-3) has 13 goals during its four-game winning streak at CenturyLink Field, but hasn't scored away from home since a 2-0 victory at Chivas USA on June 1.
The Sounders suffered their fourth shutout in five road games across all competitions with a 2-0 loss at Vancouver last Saturday.
"The quality of our crossing still needs to be better, I think there were some good situations we put ourselves in and that's something we've got to get back to as well," coach Sigi Schmid told the league's official website.
Forward Obafemi Martins has scored four of his team-leading six goals at home. He provided one of those in a 4-0 vict...

For the USA/Belize soccer game, Chris Wondolowski’s name was spelled wrong on the back of his jersey. In the first half, his jersey had an extra W on it and said Wondowloswki. It should be noted that despite his name being spelled wrong, he scored three goals in the first half.
To start the second half he came out with a new jersey with the correct spelling of his name...
Jersey issues fixed, Chris Wondolowski is still scoring goals for the USMNT. And it’s probably because he’s keeping the now-infamous extra (and possibly lucky) ‘W’ on his jersey even though the rest of us can’t see it. The Earthquakes striker tallied two goals as a substitute as the US rallied to pummel Cuba, 4-1, in their second game of Gold Cup action. After the game...
Chris Wondolowski - with his jersey name spelled correctly this time - scored two more goals to raise his total to five in two matches, and the United States came from behind to beat Cuba 4-1 Saturday and advance to the CONCACAF Gold Cup quarterfinals.
Landon Donovan converted his second penalty kick of the tournament for his 53rd international goal, Joe Corona got his first international...
The San Jose Earthquakes (5-9-6) entertain the Seattle Sounders FC (7-6-3) on Saturday night at Buck Shaw Stadium.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., as the Earthquakes will be playing their first home game after an extended stretch on the road. The team did play at Stanford Stadium back on June 29, but hasn’t taken the field at Buck Shaw since May 18 when they played the Colorado...
Following the lead of their teammate, Chris Wondolowski, who scored twice in the USMNT game against Cuba in the Gold Cup, the San Jose Earthquakes were able to keep the momentum and score to edge the Seattle Sounders in front of 10,525 fans at Buck Shaw Stadium.
The Quakes and Sounders got the game started at 7:38pm. Play started slow with neither team having much luck penetrating...
