It's time to focus on the future as National Signing Day is upon us.
South Carolina expects to sign 22 committed recruits Wednesday, February 1st as they continue to build this football program into a championship contender.
This should be a day of celebration for the Gamecocks as there are several big name players who will soon become an official part of the football team. The only thing missing this year will be the drama.
The Gamecocks didn't gain any last minute commitments on Wednesday and didn't lose any of their current 22 commitments either. So this was a quiet day for the Gamecocks but don't think of that as a bad thing. This is a solid recruiting class up and down the line that will fill several holes and add some great talent for the future.

Wednesday symbolically marked the beginning of the 2012 football season. With National Signing Day now complete, South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier and assistant coach Steve Spurrier Jr. talked about the Gamecocks' 2012 signing class, ranked a top 15 class.
