Michigan State started off against Illinois with a bang when guard Denzel Valentine tossed a short lob to teammate Adreian Payne who powerfully threw it down with two hands.

In honor of the Michigan State vs Michigan hockey games this weekend, here’s a look back at one of the best hockey brawls the rivalry has ever seen. Benches cleared, and the goalies duke’d it out at the end of the 1st period in a game played back in 1991. 39 penalty minutes were handed out. Michigan State won the game 6-2.
