The St. Louis Cardinals have had an incredible amount of success the past three seasons, including a World Series championship and two trips to the National League Championship Series, but they still have a chance to create new, lifelong memories for another set of Cardinals fans with a win Friday or Saturday.
The World Series is the pinnacle of the sport. It is every team’s goal at the beginning of the season to make the Fall Classic. Sure, 10 teams make the postseason, but those two that end up in the final series are held in higher esteem. They are the champions of their league.
A Cardinals win in Game 6 or Game 7 of the NLCS would push them through the barrier that halted their season a year ago when they led three games to one over the San Francisco Giants but ultimately lost the series in seven games.
As with any team in any season, the Cardinals gained a batch of new, young fans who decided to follow the Cardinals in 2012 and had no recollection of the magical 2011 season th...

Carlos Beltran, Michael Wacha and the St. Louis Cardinals are going to the World Series following a 9-0 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 6 of the National League Championship Series Friday night. “I’m so happy right now,” said Carlos Beltran, who finished the night with a three-hit game and a highlight-reel diving catch in right-center field. “We
The Cardinals are one game away from heading to the World Series after last night's 4-2 triumph over the Dodgers.
However, the team needs to stay focused and continue to do what they're doing in order to succeed in their ultimate goal, lest we forget what happened last year.
As you recall, the Cardinals were in the same position last year, up 3-1 against the San Francisco...
ST. LOUIS -- Nobody knows how much the Cardinals will be thinking about their collapse in last year's NL Championship Series on Friday night. For the 17 returning players who watched their season sink in San Francisco, the memory of being outscored 20-1 and blowing a 3-games-to-1 lead must be difficult to erase.
But you can be certain at least one Cardinal will not be weighed...
Cardinals rookie right-hander Michael Wacha put together arguably the greatest National League Championship Series ever by a rookie pitcher and he was named the NLCS Most Valuable Player Award winner after leading the Cards to the World Series with yet another sterling postseason performance in Friday night's 9-0 blanking of the Dodgers in Game 6.
Wacha held the Dodgers to two...
The St. Louis Cardinals failed to coerce a Los Angeles police officer into their "breakdance party" at the edge of the dugout during Wednesday's Game 5 of the NLDS.
The Cardinals also failed to win the game and close out the series. Maybe the Cardinals should focus less on the dancing and more about their play on the field.

As St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Michael Wacha threw seven shutout innings at the Los Angeles Dodgers Friday night, allowing just two hits and a walk, while striking out five, he not only helped eliminate the Dodgers, he put his name in the record books as well.
Among Wacha’s milestones, according to the Elias Sports Bureau:
The right-hander became the first rookie to record two...
There has been a growing conversation among fans and reporters about the possibility of the Mets bringing back OF Carlos Beltran, although the organizations interest is unknown.
Does it make sense for the Mets to bring back one-time fan favorite Carlos Beltran? I sit on the fence with this one, but opt to say yes under certain conditions.
First off, there is a group inside the Mets...

The St. Louis Cardinals didn't just beat the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 6 of the NLCS Friday night--they destroyed them!
The Cardinals bats beat up on Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw early with four runs in the third. They would get five more in the fifth (final score 9-0), but Kershaw was pulled after getting tagged with three hits and another run in the fifth.
It’s been mentioned a few times on the TBS telecast of the NLCS between the Dodgers and Cardinals that many St. Louis players who were around remember last season’s playoffs more than winning the World Series in 2011.
Why? The Cards had a good shot to repeat and were up 3-1 in the 2012 NLCS against San Francisco. Two of St. Louis’ best pitchers, Chris Carpenter and Kyle...
Clayton Kershaw was long gone. Michael Wacha kept Dodgers hitters down, ignoring the surprisingly big lead and pitching as if the opposing ace was still dealing.
The rookie left no doubt in a 9-0 rout Friday night that put the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series for the second time in three years and kicked Los Angeles' high-dollar roster to the curb.
As a St. Louis Cardinals fan, I don’t even have a decent response for this. I mean, I love fan-made sports team anthems in an ironic way, because 99% of songs and/or videos recorded for the sake of “supportin’ the team, bro” are typically unintentionally hilarious, but this one? I have no clue what was supposed to come of “The Chase is On.”
Maybe this was just intended...
