The city of St. Louis is known as one of, if not the best, baseball city in the entire country. The city supports the St. Louis Cardinals like no other fan base in the United States. St. Louis lives and breathes Cardinals' baseball. The green grass, bright lights and smell of fresh hot dogs can make anybody, child or adult, happy in St. Louis.
One group of people in St. Louis is so crazy about baseball that they are going to attempt to break the Guinness World Record mark for the longest baseball game ever on May 17.
While the spectacle of having the longest game ever is cool, the best thing about the event is that the group, organized by Chuck Williams and Michael Martin of Wildwood, Missouri, will simultaneously raise money for the Joplin Chamber of Commerce in order to help with the rebuilding effort there after the devastating tornadoes that went through the city in the spring of 2011.
The group has tried to do this before and attempted the feat as recently as last...

(AP) -- Jake Westbrook owns the lowest ERA in baseball, but a visit to Wrigley Field could put that in jeopardy.

The Cardinals (20-12) have the best rotation in baseball with a 2.22 ERA, and Westbrook...

The high-ceiling potential attached to the arm of Carlos Martinez has been no secret since he signed with St. Louis back in 2010. Three years and 260 MiLB innings later, a once raw 18-year old has made quick progress in the critical areas of mental maturity (strike throwing), mound intelligence (pitch selection) and off speed/breaking ball refinement...

St. Louis Cardinals starter Lance Lynn entered Tuesday night's game at Wrigley Field against the Chicago Cubs with an undefeated 5-0 record. But, thanks to a two-run home run off the bat of Nate Schierholtz in the fourth inning and a lackluster and quiet performance by the Cardinals offense, Lynn picked up his first loss of the season in a 2-1 defeat to the Cubs.
Our friends over at Big League Stew had a nice little post about a new product that Topps (yes, the same company that makes ball cards) has created: LINK HERE
