The St. Louis Rams, like the Seattle Seahawks have seen a resurgence this year but unfortunately for them, the playoffs were out of the question weeks ago.
Still, Jeff Fisher has his team playing hard on both sides of the ball as evidenced by their win and tie against the 49ers and their impressive win last week against a pretty good Tampa Bay team.

Offensively, the Rams are a tad Jekyll and Hyde – good one week and terrible the next. Such is the case when relying on Sam Bradford and an unflattering group of receivers!
Currently the Rams own the 19th best passing game and the 19th best running game in the NFL. They score just 19.07 points per game however – good for 26th in the NFL.
The strength of the Rams this year has been the defense although the numbers don’t necessarily reflect that notion.
The Rams have allowed 21.87 points per game thus far – 14th in the NFL; they are 15th against the pass and 16th against the run – the quintessential “middle of the road” defensive squad. However, they are tough, they are well coached and they do offer a challenge to the opposition.
The Seattle Seahawks are on some sort of historic roll.
In the last three games they have amassed 150 points – 42 against the best defense in the game, the San Francisco 49ers.
The Hawks have emerged and have to be in the conversation as one of the true dark horses to win the Super Bowl this season. The Hawks are balanced and dangerous in absolutely every aspect of the game!
Seattle’s offensive stats don’t exactly jump off the page – they are clearly better than the numbers suggest.
Entering Week 17 Seattle is the 27th ranked pass offense and they are the second best rushing team in the NFL.
Seattle is now the 8th best scoring team in the NFL – shocking to most you talk to. Nobody has been able to slow this team down as of late – they have become the team that absolutely nobody wants to play!
The Hawks defense is also a big reason Seattle is to be feared!
The allow the fewest points per game in the NFL – 15.47, they are 5th against the pass and 11th versus the run. Seattle has been top tier defensively all season and they appear to be peaking at just the right time!
Dave’s Won’t Cost You Anything Free Betting Prediction:
A few trends to consider:
• St. Louis is 4-1 SU in its last 5 games
• The total has gone UNDER in 4 of St. Louis\’s last 5 games when playing Seattle
• The total has gone UNDER in 13 of St. Louis\’s last 18 games on the road
• The total has gone OVER in 6 of St. Louis\’s last 9 games
• The total has gone OVER in 5 of Seattle\’s last 5 games
• Seattle is 5-0 SU in its last 5 games at home
• Seattle is 5-0 SU in its last 5 games when playing at home against St. Louis
• Seattle is 13-2 SU in its last 15 games when playing St. Louis
Normally, double-digit spreads in divisional games are ones to stay away from but a look at what Seattle did at home against San Francisco last week reveals the fact that 10 1/2 may be about right. The Hawks won’t be denied on Sunday – the only question is whether or not Pete Carroll keeps his starters in when the game is out of hand. The crowd will do its part, the defense will rise to the occasion in typical fashion and the offense will keep their insane roll going.
It all adds up to an easy Seattle win to close out the season. Fear not the 10 1/2!
Pick: Seattle Seahawks -10 1/2
