When Kasey Kahne lands in Daytona next week for SpeedWeeks at Daytona International Speedway, he will be apart of something he has never gotten the chance to enjoy–to be apart of a championship team.
“I think everywhere I go I’m going to be pretty darned excited,” Kahne said Tuesday during a media teleconference. “But definitely Daytona, as big of a race as the 500 is, and all of us want to win that race so bad.
Kahne being excited is a big deal as he is one of the few drivers on the track that is known for being quiet.
“To come down there with Hendrick Motorsports, a team that’s won the race, I mean, it’s just awesome. I look forward to that,” Kahne said.
Heading into the 2012 season, Kahne finally has a solid foundation with Hendrick Motorsports and couldn’t be happier.
