#23 ARIZONA STATE AT #5 STANFORDStanford Stadium, Palo Alto, CA
Saturday, September 21, 7:00 PM on FOX
We've already made enough jokes about the horrible Week 4 line-up, but we didn't lose this matchup in the shuffle. Arizona State's trip to Stanford in the only meeting between ranked teams this week, so you don't really have an excuse not to watch it. Not that...
Stanford put together one of the finest halves in program history against Arizona State on Saturday. The team struggled after easing up on the gas later, but the good overcame the bad in the Pac-12 opener.
STANFORD, Calif. – a multitude of errors as well as extremely poor play had Arizona State trailing 29-0 after the first half. The second stanza saw the Sun Devils outscore Stanford 28-13. But this isn’t a case of the glass half empty or half full, but rather ASU overall failing to show up on their biggest stage thus far in 2013 as they were dominated by the Cardinal 42-28.
The Arizona State Sun Devils find themselves ranked this week but if they want to keep that ranking they will likely have to upset Stanford.
No. 23 Arizona State pulled off an upset against Wisconsin last week thanks largely to some awful officiating but alas it still counts as a win. This week they play against No. 5 ranked Stanford.
FOX will have coverage of the match-up between...

If a college football team has had a better half this season, I’d love to see it. Stanford leads 29-0 at the break, and add in a missed extra point, a missed field goal and a touchdown instead of a safety, and it could easily be 38-0. One week after a grind-it-out win at Army, the Cardinal look elite this afternoon.

A beautiful first half gave way to a second half of necessity. Three Arizona State touchdowns gave the Sun Devils new life in the fourth quarter, but then the Cardinal running game salted the game away and practically refused to give the visitors the ball back. A come-from-ahead 42-28 win for your Stanford Cardinal, now 3-0 for the fourth straight season for the first time since 1911.
