The Steelers are starting to pick up speed on draft visits.  They had 3 more players visit the facility today according to Ed Bouchette.  Mychal Kendricks the linebacker out of Cal who had already been reported made his visit today.  Joining him were two other linebacker prospects in Cam Johnson out of Virginia and Olivier Vernon of Miami FL.

Both Vernon and Johnson were defensive ends in college.  They both are to small to play that position in the NFL though.  Vernon weighs in at 264 and Johnson comes in at 270.  Johnson has the body and potential to put on the weight to become a defensive end but Vernon does not.  These guys would most likely be outside linebackers in Pittsburgh.

Johnson is a better option for the time being then Vernon but Vernon may also show the potential to be a better pick in his career then Johnson.  Johnson is ready to play now.  Vernon is still raw and should not have come out of school.  He is very young though and can still be molded.  He has the LaMarr Woodley body style and could become a great player.  He also has more value being picked later.  Johnson should go in the second round.  For the upside picking Vernon later would be the better move.

The Steelers eem to be bringing in many guys in positions that seem to be filled.  This may be something to watch moving forward.
