by Chris BurkeFiled under: Rams, Redskins, NFL InjuriesRunning back Steven Jackson and safety O.J. Atogwe -- the Rams' top players on offense and defense, respectively -- both exited Sunday's game against Washington due to injury.
Jackson, a 1,000-yard rusher for each of the past five seasons, suffered a groin injury late in the first half and was not expected to return to action. The Rams' RB was hurt on a running play during the final drive of the first half -- he was tackled awkwardly after a two-yard gain. Jackson fumbled the ball on the play, with the Redskins recovering, but the play was reversed on replay and Jackson was ruled down. He stayed on the field for a few moments after the play, then limped gingerly to the sideline.
Atogwe left the game in the second half with what the team announced was a thigh injury. He was also listed as questionable to return. Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments
