The Miami Marlins saw their season high three game winning streak come to an end on Wednesday as the New York Mets took the game 7-6.   Miami did win the series however to give them their first series win of the year.   The loss was the 20th of the season for the Marlins and was a wild contest that featured a subpar appearance from the bullpen. Wade LeBlanc managed to not give up any runs in the first inning which is something he had been doing all season long.   Despite the scoreless first, LeBlanc allowed four runs in five and two third innings on eight hits.   A.J. Ramos was tagged with the loss and a blown save by allowing the tying run and the go-ahead run to score before finishing the sixth inning.   Chad Qualls didn’t have his best stuff on Wednesday and it showed when he allowed two runs on three hits while only retiring one hitter.  Those runs wound up making a difference at the end of the day.   In contrast, Brad Hand pitched decent tossing one and two third hit-less innings.   Last out of the pen was Mike Dunn who featured one scoreless inning of relief to keep the game at one. It looked like it was going to be a rare big day for the offense when Miami scored three times in the bottom of the first but the production slowed after that with the next run not coming until the fourth.  Chris Valiaka and Nick Green each doubled with the latter having two.   As a team, Miami was 5-14 with runners in scoring position and left seven on base.   The team had a chance to tie it in the seventh with a man on third and one out but they were unable to get that run home. Miami will look to start a new winning streak on Thursday with Alex Sanabia scheduled to start.
