Texas and Texas A&M might not play each other anymore, but the rivalry is still alive and well. Since the Aggies joined the SEC and Kevin Sumlin took over as head coach in 2012, the two programs have gone in opposite directions. Johnny Manziel won the Heisman Trophy and Texas A&M is back as an elite powerhouse in college football. Texas has struggled since appearing in the 2010 BCS title game, and Mack Brown stepped down as head coach in December after another championship-less season. Charlie Strong was hired last month to resurrect the Texas program. The Longhorns annually had a top 10 recruitting class, but they've fallen behind the Aggies on the recruiting trail the last two seasons. Sumlin visits top prospects in a souped-up helicopter known as the "Swagcopter." Strong was asked about the "Swagcopter" on National Signing Day. Sumlin responded to those comments about being a "gadget program." "I guess based on today we better get so...

Charlie Strong On Kevin Sumlin, Texas A&M’s Swagcopter: “We’re Not Going To Be A Gadget Program”

New Texas head coach Charlie Strong isn’t wasting any time getting involved in the war of words with the school’s biggest in-state rival. During his press conference Wednesday afternoon during National Signing Day, Strong was asked about competing against Kevin Sumlin and Texas A&M’s “Swagcopter” that it uses on recruiting trips. Strong implied that the Aggies were...

Charlie Strong fires shot at Texas A&M, Sumlin’s ‘gadget program’

Charlie Strong fired a shot at Texas AM and Kevin Sumlin's "gadget program" on National Signing Day. Welcome back Longhorns, we've missed you.

Aggies reap benefits from on-field success

Coach Kevin Sumlin’s Texas A&M Aggies landed a consensus top ten recruiting class, a haul which once again signifies the program’s ascent back toward the forefront of the national landscape of college football. Not only is such success in luring highly coveted prospects to College Station attributable to the Aggies, but it is also a result of the recent turnover occurring...

Texas A&M continues National Signing Day excellence

We'd like to make this clear: Texas A&M fans on Twitter spent an awful lot of time in hope as some of the country's biggest recruits made their decisions to come to schools, but they weren't exactly crying their eyes out when it didn't happen. That's because Kevin Sumlin had already put together a monster JUCO recruiting haul, and the signatures already coming...

Aggies land top-5 recruiting class

Texas A&M has signed a player who could replace Johnny Football and another who should boost its struggling defense. The Aggies signed Kyle Allen, who is rated the top quarterback prospect in the nation, to compete for the job left open when 2012 Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel declared for the NFL draft last month. Allen threw for more than 8,000 yards and 86 touchdowns...

Texas A&M honors scholarship despite career-ending injury

Texas A&M showed a lot of class with its top 10 recruiting class. Cedric Collins, a three-star cornerback from Dallas, signed with the Aggies even though he'll never get to play at Kyle Field. Collins committed to Texas A&M before his junior year in 2012. But during the playoffs that season, he felt numbness in his legs after getting hit, according to a report by the...
