Texas and Texas A&M might not play each other anymore, but the rivalry is still alive and well.
Since the Aggies joined the SEC and Kevin Sumlin took over as head coach in 2012, the two programs have gone in opposite directions.
Johnny Manziel won the Heisman Trophy and Texas A&M is back as an elite powerhouse in college football. Texas has struggled since appearing in the 2010 BCS title game, and Mack Brown stepped down as head coach in December after another championship-less season.
Charlie Strong was hired last month to resurrect the Texas program. The Longhorns annually had a top 10 recruitting class, but they've fallen behind the Aggies on the recruiting trail the last two seasons.

New Texas head coach Charlie Strong isn’t wasting any time getting involved in the war of words with the school’s biggest in-state rival. The Aggies signed Kyle Allen, who is rated the top quarterback prospect in the nation, to compete for the job left open when 2012 Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel declared for the NFL draft last month. Allen threw for more than 8,000 yards and 86 touchdowns...

Collins committed to Texas A&M before his junior year in 2012. But during the playoffs that season, he felt numbness in his legs after getting hit, according to a report by the...
