Syracuse Orange football fans, start thinking about The A.J.-K.J. Connection because it could be the future of the Syracuse offense. K.J. Williams, a four-star wide receiver from Bethlehem, PA, and cousin of SU QB commit A.J. Long, verbally-committed to play for the Orange in 2014. Williams, who has been milking the whole process on Twitter for a while now, milked the crap out of it on Sunday as well... I will be committing too........... — TheWorldsGreatest#2 (@KJWilliams2) July 7, 2013 Syracuse University!!!!! — TheWorldsGreatest#2 (@KJWilliams2) July 7, 2013 Williams was said to be choosing between SU and Michigan but also had offers from Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Wisconsin, UCLA, Missouri, UConn and more. He's also the cousin of current No. 1 receiver Jarrod West. Glad SU is working that cousin connection well. Williams moved Syracuse up Rivals' 2014 rankings from 71st to 57th, proving just how big a get he is. He is the highest-rated member of the 2014 class, the 154th best overall prospect according to Rivals and is the highest-rated commitment that the Orange have received since 2008 when Marcus Sales and Averin Collier, both four-star players, committed. (Let Collier be a quick reminder to you that these things don't always pan out). Syracuse recruiting coordinator Eric White reacted to the news with his usual cryptic-but-not-too-cryptic-but-what-are-you-gonna-do-about-it-anyway-NCAA tweets... Michael Cohen has more on why Williams chose Syracuse. In the meantime, go watch some highlights and get giddy.   This article was originally published at (an SB Nation blog). Long Distance Romeing: Jerome Smith is the Key to Productive Syracuse Attack

Orange Nation enjoyed watching tailback Jerome Smith last year. The bruising runner led Syracuse with 1,171 yards on just 227 carries and three touchdowns. He did it by running angrier than most Big East running backs. How will he bring that aggression and grit to the ACC? It’s pretty simple: by staying as humble and even-keel off the field during the off-season. He is the key...

What a Catch! Four-Star Wideout K.J. Williams Gives Verbal to Syracuse

Lehigh Valley Express Times After years of seeing the big fish in the recruiting sea bypass the Orange for a bigger program, Syracuse inches closer to reeling in its man. Highly coveted wide receiver K.J. Williams gave a verbal commitment  to SU yesterday, making him the eighth pledge in the 2014 class. Williams is a 4-star target who has been on SU’s radar ever since his cousin...

Syracuse To Retire Lawrence Moten’s Jersey

Lawrence Moten didn’t do much in the NBA, but who can forget the kid from Washington, D.C. who dominated The Big East with his long socks and akward but deadly game. Moten was a smooth swingman, able to play small forward or shooting guard for Jim Boeheim and Syracuse, from 1991 to 1995. Moten who is Syracuse’s and The Big East all time leading scorer at 1,405 points, will have...
