Dallas Cowboys And The NFL:
DENVER - The Cowboys had their first two interceptions of the season against the Panthers last week, but takeaways could be hard to come by in Denver. Quarterback Kyle Orton has yet to throw an interception this season and the Broncos rank second in the league in turnover ratio with an AFC-best plus-6.
The Cowboys' minus-1 is tied for 16th in the league.
"He has done an efficient job of throwing the ball only where his guy can get it and he releases it quickly," Phillips said of Orton. "Plus, they have a good offensive line so he doesn't get sacked, and he's a smart quarterback who knows where to go with the ball quickly."
Orton is 10th in the NFL in passing, having connected on 55.7 percent of his attempts (49 of 88) for 663 yards and three touchdowns. His passer rating of 91.2 is eight spots above the 85.2 rating of Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, who is 51 of 89 (57.3 percent) for 735 yards with four TDs and three interceptions.
